Fly Fishing Clubs.

The Best Investment a Fly Angler Can Make.

Whether you’re learning fly fishing or have been doing it for years, if you are not a member of one of the many fly fishing clubs you are missing out on one of the best tools you can have.

Fly fishing clubs generally meet once a month and offer an abundant amount of “hands on” information on fly fishing in your area.

Getting started fly fishing?

Most clubs offer a Fly Fishing 101 class to its new members that will help you in choosing the right equipment and instructions on how to use them.  This usually includes a fly casting class with experienced anglers giving you tips to improve along the way.

Looking for a good fishing hole?

Other members of the fly fishing clubs are likely to give you details for finding fish in your area.  Don’t expect them all to give up their secret hole.  But buddy up with someone and they’re likely to let you in on their secret.

The club in my area also offers many fly fishing trips at a reasonable price due to the group rate.

Want to learn to tie flies or build your own rod?

Again almost all the clubs will offer some sort of fly tying course and the one in my area meets up weekly outside the meetings for fly tying sessions.

Rod building classes are also a common benefit.  You can learn to build your own fly rod, not from a book or video, but from someone right there who has actually done it.

These are some of the benefits you will find at almost all fly fishing clubs, but one of the best things about these clubs is being able to talk face-to-face with other anglers who have “been there done that.”  They can give you a wealth of information that you just can’t find any other place.

As a small show of appreciation to fly fishing clubs I would like to build a directory that will benefit both the clubs and the readers of this site.
