Club Information : The Roubidoux Fly Fishers Association  was organized in 1988. We are a bunch of friendly, fun loving folks who fly fish for just about anything that swims. Freshwater, saltwater, warm-water, and cold-water...if it has fish in it somebody has probably tossed a fly in there to catch them, bathtubs included.

Bass, trout, bluegill, goggle eye, sunfish, catfish, gar, carp, crappie, tuna, shark, redfish, tarpon, bonefish, snook, salmon, pike, grayling and many other species have all been chased by at least one of us over the years. Some of us specalize in bluegill fishing, some others in trout, and one of us has made an art out of catching some really nice size catfish on a fly rod. Most of us fish for what ever species is biting good at the time.

There are a few members in the club that are of expert or legend status. However, most of us are just your average fly fisher complete with a poor backcast and a knack for catching trees as well as fish. A number of members tie our their own flies. We even have a couple world famous tiers in the club. Everyone in the club finds great joy in sharing their knowledge of fly fishing with others and meetings often turn into learning sessions.

The original Roubidoux Fly Fishers Association was established on two basic principals: 1) The promotion of fly fishing as a sport and 2) The conservation of fisheries, concentrating on, but not limited to, the central Missouri region. Check out the Conservation Issues page for more details. We are affilated members of both the International Federation of Fly Fishers, a group of over 300 fly fishing clubs worldwide, and the Conservation Federation of Missouri.

The club is centered out of Waynesville, Missouri, but we have members throughout centeral Missouri, surrounding states and military members from Japan to Germany.
